Key Responsibilities

  • Develop product ranges and presentations in alignment with the agreed product strategy, brand identity, and store values. Ensure that the ranges accurately reflect the desired image and value levels.
  • Utilise historical data and trends to plan and implement the product strategy in collaboration with the Merchandiser, aiming to achieve the agreed-upon sales and margin objectives.
  • Work with the Sourcing Manager or Sourcing Trainee Manager to execute the strategy for intake margin growth, incorporating risk assessment and supply security considerations.
  • Drive the front-end product development strategy across functions, ensuring timely progress in sampling, fabric selection, and pricing to meet deadlines for range planning and development.
  • Ensure that range plans, product briefs, design specifications, fabric requirements, fit sessions, and colour considerations are completed according to the critical path schedule and are effectively communicated both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with Design, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing teams to plan and implement window displays, photography, range manuals, and layout guidelines.
  • Continuously review product performance and trends to optimise sales and margins for the current season and beyond, taking appropriate actions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of stores, competitors, opportunities, and threats through store visits and ongoing market analysis.
  • Provide effective management, evaluation, and development of the supplier base as needed.
  • Support and coach line reports, ensuring structured training and development plans.
  • Manage costs within agreed budgets and guidelines.
