About Us:Randstad is proud to partner with the Fostering Team in Carlisle to recruit a skilled and motivated Fostering Social Worker. This is a unique opportunity to support foster carers and children, ensuring placements are stable and provide a nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Job Description:As a Fostering Social Worker, you will be responsible for supporting foster carers and overseeing the placement of children in their care. You will conduct assessments, monitor placements, and ensure that foster carers receive the guidance and resources they need to provide high-quality care.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and supervise foster carers, offering guidance and advice to ensure placements are successful.
  • Conduct regular assessments of foster carers and foster placements, identifying any support needs or areas for development.
  • Work closely with children, foster carers, and professionals to ensure the child's safety, well-being, and development within the placement.
  • Prepare reports for panel meetings and contribute to the matching process of foster children with suitable carers.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including reviews, child protection conferences, and care planning meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience in fostering, adoption, or children's services, particularly within a fostering team.
  • Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with foster carers, children, and multi-agency teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload.
