Media and Digital Art Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Media and Digital Art Teacher to join our Creative Industries department within our Further Education establishment. This role involves teaching, monitoring, and managing programmes with a specialism in Creative Media Production and Digital Art. The successful candidate will also take on responsibilities as a Course Leader and contribute to curriculum development and student assessment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, organise, assess, and teach on L1-L3 Media and Art programmes.
  • Hold Course Leader responsibilities for L2 and/or L3 UAL Creative Media Production, including Interval Verification, curriculum development, assessment, evaluation, and other administrative duties.
  • Embed the development of English and Maths skills in teaching practice at all levels.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources, contributing to the future direction and planning of both on-site and online programmes.
  • Forge industry links for guest speakers and work experience opportunities.
  • Act as a tutor for student groups, providing tutorial and pastoral care in line with College guidelines.
  • Engage actively in all aspects of student assessment, internal verification, and accreditation.
  • Participate in curriculum planning, product development, and the College’s self-assessment and development planning processes.
  • Assist in the marketing of programmes and in the selection and recruitment for College programmes.
  • Plan and arrange work placements and monitor, visit, and assess students on work experience.
  • Liaise with employers and external agencies and undertake research to ensure quality delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching Creative Media Production and Digital Art.
  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple programme levels effectively.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with experience in curriculum development and student assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of forging strong industry links.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching practices.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends occasionally, as required for enrolment and other procedures.
