Join Our Team as an HR Officer!

Reports to: Management Systems and HR Manager

Role Purpose: Be the go-to expert for all HR matters across our business! Support the Management Systems and HR Manager in all HR aspects. Develop, implement, and manage policies to ensure staff welfare and effectiveness. Drive recruitment, training, and development of all personnel.

Our Engineering based client near Castle Cary is looking for a HR Officer to join their busy and growing company

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Guidance: Advise on employment law, internal documents, policies, and procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with managers and personnel to implement company policies and goals.
  • Business Improvements: Partner with the Management Systems and HR Manager to enhance recruitment and retention.
  • Performance Appraisals: Develop and monitor appraisal processes, ensuring effective reviews and actions.
  • Recruitment Support: Assist in recruitment drives, liaise with IT and recruitment agencies, and uphold the recruitment process.
  • Personnel Records: Manage records, monitor probation periods, and ensure effective onboarding.
  • Onboarding: Conduct inductions, manage paperwork, and support line managers with recruitment.
  • Absence Management: Handle short and long-term absences, uphold sickness and absence policies.
  • Holiday Administration: Administer the holiday app and log annual leave.
  • Mental Health: Manage the mental health policy and oversee the Wellbeing Committee.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Level 5 HR qualification
  • English and Maths GCSE at Grade C or above
  • Good ICT skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Hardworking, conscientious, and supportive
  • Calm under pressure, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and a leader by example
  • Attention to detail
  • Valid driving licence
