Castle Donington

We are recruiting for an experienced imports clerk on behalf of our client in the Castle Donington area. In this fast paced role, you will be joining the freight forwarding team onsite to support with managing the import bookings, customer service and general administration.

Temp to Perm
Monday to Friday 09:00-17:30 (occasional overtime required in busy periods)

Day to Day includes:
  • Receiving and booking in import freight for both the air and road team.
  • Keeping customers up to date and managing expectation
  • Customsclearance, ensuring all imports comply with local and national regulations
  • Processing invoices and keeping account statements up to date.
  • Providing quotations
  • Resolving and escalating any issues
  • Keeping up to date communication with the overseas offices and third parties .

About you...
  • MUST have experience of working in a freight environment, basic knowledge of import procedures is ESSENTIAL for this role
  • Proficient in IT systems (AS400, Sequoia, Word and Excel.)
  • Able to manage own workload, plan and prioritize day to day tasks.
  • Initiative and proactive in rectifying issues and problem solving
  • Team player, willing to assist other departments in busy periods, holiday cover etc...

Please note this role is based on site at our clients depot in DE74, you must be able to commute to this location as hybrid/remote working is not offered due to the nature of the role.
