The Role

My client are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our team in Castle Donington area. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating the efficient movement of goods, ensuring timely deliveries while optimising routes and resources.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage daily transport operations for general haulage and same-day deliveries.

  • Optimise vehicle routing to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Monitor driver schedules, workloads, and legal compliance.

  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams.

  • Handle any transport-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including compliance with transport regulations.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service levels.



Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in transport planning, preferably in general haulage and same-day delivery.

  • Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance.

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
