About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join a dynamic team based in Castle Donington. You will play a key role in managing daily transport operations for general haulage and same-day deliveries, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and the highest service levels. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage daily transport operations for general haulage and same-day deliveries.
- Optimise vehicle routing to achieve maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor driver schedules, workloads, and ensure legal compliance with transport regulations.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Resolve transport-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with transport regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance service levels.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in transport planning, preferably in general haulage and same-day delivery services.
- Strong understanding of UK transport regulations and compliance.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong teamwork abilities with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
