The company themselves are leaders in their field with over 2500 employees and offices up and down the UK. The business is very much in its growth stage, and they are currently consolidating their IT infrastructure across the group.
As a Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer, you will be joining a new collaborative team. You will be a key facilitator in supporting the organisations migration over to GCP and will the technical authority on the subject. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimising GCP services, while also ensuring seamless integration with the organisations hybrid IT landscape.
Key accountabilities:
- Establish best practices for GCP adoption, including security, cost management, and governance.
- Ensure the integration of GCP services with Microsoft 365 and hybrid environments.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex GCP-related incidents (3rd/4th line support).
- Assist the IT Ops team with troubleshooting cloud-related performance and security issues.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing best practices and knowledge.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all cloud-related services.
- Extensive experience in GCP architecture
- Proven cloud migration experience
- Documentation and process creation experience testing experience
- Experience working with a wide range of senior stakeholders
- Experience working in multi-cloud environments (GCP/Azure/AWS)
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
