We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our secondary school team in Wakefield. You will work closely with teachers to support student's learning, help manage classroom behaviour, and assist with individual or small-group support for students who may need extra guidance. This role is essential in helping maintain an inclusive and supportive atmosphere, where every student can succeed.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build supportive and positive relationships with students and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)

Responsibilities:

  • Support students' learning in the classroom by working with individuals and small groups
  • Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and resources
  • Help manage and encourage positive classroom behaviour
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with specific learning needs
  • Foster a positive, safe, and productive learning environment
  • Support students during break and lunch periods as needed
