We are currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our dynamic team in Castleford. If you have a proven track record in Transport Planning and are looking for a new opportunity to excel in a fast-paced environment, this role could be the perfect fit for you!
As a Transport Planner you will oversee the day to day planning of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer.
Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
- Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
- Planning daily workload for a fleet: vehicles based on and off site.
- Dealing with queries and issues by telephone and email from our customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites.
- Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
- Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise.
- Support the fleet and driver training team as and when required.
- Deliver effective, professional and timely internal and external communications.
Qualifications
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment.
- Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
- Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
- Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
- Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the Company and our customers.
- Be a highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small friendly team, and under own initiative.
