?OverviewWe are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join an Accountancy Practice near Catterick Garrison The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation.

Duties

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accurate record-keeping.

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and payment processing.

  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial ledgers.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budget preparation.

  • Utilise accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks to manage financial data effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.

  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external auditors as required.

  • Maintain organised filing systems for financial documents.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting environment.

  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.

  • Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • A relevant qualification in finance or accounting is preferred but not essential.
