Job OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join the team in Catterick Garrison. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, is essential for this role. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial part in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall success of the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
  • Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with auditors as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Provide support for any financial queries from staff or management.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Expert in Xero
  • AAT level 3+ qualified
  • Familiarity with accounts payable processes is highly desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
