About the role
As an Exams Invigilator, you will play a vital role in facilitating a calm and orderly examination environment for students. Your primary responsibilities will include setting up the exam venue, distributing question papers, supervising candidates, and ensuring compliance with examination regulations. You will be expected to foster an atmosphere that enables students to perform their best, all while maintaining fairness and integrity during the examination process. This flexible position requires you to be available during various exam periods throughout the academic year especially during the Summer External Exam period, making punctuality and reliability essential attributes.
Invigilators work within the School on a flexible basis. Exams are taken at various times during the academic year and so work can be seasonal thus this is a self-employed role with no guaranteed hours. Working days and hours are flexible and the role requires Invigilators to be reliable and punctual.

Who we are looking for:
While no specific qualifications are required, we are seeking individuals who possess excellent communication skills and the ability to follow and convey instructions effectively. You should project a calm demeanour in potentially stressful situations and remain vigilant during exam sessions that can last up to three hours. Experience working with young people or in educational settings is desirable but not essential. You must be a team player, ready to assist your colleagues and engage positively with students. Additionally, your commitment to safeguarding students' wellbeing is crucial, as is your willingness to participate in relevant training and adhere to safeguarding policies. A full DBS clearance is mandatory to ensure a safe environment for all candidates.
