Hygiene Technician

Job Title: Hygiene Technician

Location: Rochester, Kent

Job Purpose:
Ensure all machinery and external areas of the factory meet the company's hygiene standards through effective cleaning and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain high visual and microbiological hygiene standards across the site.
• Address and report challenges to the Hygiene Team Leader.
• Safely handle chemicals in line with COSHH training.
• Follow hygiene, food safety, quality, and H&S procedures.
• Perform deep cleaning, machine washdowns, and external area maintenance.
• Accurately complete documentation and records.
• Undertake manual handling tasks (up to 25kg).
• Clean non-operational areas, including toilets, canteens, and warehouses.
• Operate cleaning equipment during scheduled shutdowns and adhere to work instructions and safety protocols.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

Essential:

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Practical skills and ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative.
• Good communication skills (including English).
• Flexibility to work in hot environments, confined spaces, or at heights.

Desirable:

• Prior hygiene experience.

Education and Competencies:

• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Willingness to undergo required training.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (45 hours per week).
