Maintenance Engineer
We are working with a forward thinking FMCG company who have a very ambitious growth plan ahead. They are now in a position where they require a highly experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will help support the Engineering Manager across all engineering initiatives, with a focus on reducing downtime and maximising output per production line.
Job Responsibilities
- Support with the maintenance of all critical plant and machinery, including both reactive and preventive tasks
- Deliver the planning and implementation of scheduled maintenance activities to optimise operational uptime
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to troubleshoot recurring issues and implement corrective actions
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are documented accurately, maintaining up-to-date records for audits and operational transparency
- Manage and coordinate external contractors for specialist maintenance or major overhauls, ensuring all work is completed to high safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to manufacturing processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Take responsibility for safety protocols, ensuring all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Participate in the design, upgrade, installation, and relocation of machinery as required, ensuring all equipment operates to optimal standards
Person Specification
To be successful in the role of Maintenance Engineer, you will need:
- Experience within a similar role ideally in a Food or FMCG environment
- Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
- Excellent mechanical skill set and basic electrical experience and fault finding skills as a minimum
- Ideally have relevant food industry qualifications such as Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate and Level 3 HACCP Certificate
- Extensive knowledge of reactive and planned maintenance practices
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices in maintenance
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to working with cross-functional teams
Hours of Work, Pay, and Benefits
- Up to £45,000
- 45-hour week
- Monday to Friday
- 08:00 to 17:00, some flexibility will be required
