We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading providers of behavioural care and specialist support services, for a Staff Grade Doctor to join the established team within the Eating Disorder Unit in an independent mental health hospital in Cheadle, Stockport..
The hospital is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence across 12 wards which include acute adult wards, Eating Disorder Service, CAMHS, Rehabilitation, Acute and PICU services.
The successful candidate will join a large team of substantive medical staff, each ward is led by a Consultant Psychiatrist supported by their Specialty Doctor and other members of the Multi Disciplinary Team. They provide an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical knowledge and practice working alongside experienced Consultants and clinicians within the team, offering a wide variety of clinical practice not usually available within the NHS. They offer a solid commitment to your CPD and have an excellent track record in supporting Specialty Doctors to achieve success in professional examinations and to move on to higher specialist training.
Patients on this unit present with severe eating difficulties but also often also have co-morbidity including addiction, depression, anxiety, personality disorder.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the consultant and MDT, but be also able to work independently.
This is a full time permanent post 37.5 hours per week, which conventionally runs from 9am to 5pm. No on call required. The post offers a competitive salary of £80,000 per annum plus

Due to the specialist nature of these services, the Specialty Doctor has a key role in providing evidence-based assessment and treatment under direct supervision and support from the consultant. We have a national reputation for offering treatment for complex and challenging presentations in all our service users. You will also report to the supervising consultant and is expected to have formal supervision at a frequency compatible with Priory policy, and to be a member of a peer group within Priory.
