Reed are currently working in partnership with a reputable freight forwarding company based in South Manchester, dedicated to providing comprehensive logistics solutions to their clients. Our client is committed to delivering exceptional service and ensuring the efficient movement of goods worldwide.

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Key Account Manager to join our client's well established team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing key client accounts, ensuring their logistics needs are met with the highest level of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Account Management: Oversee customer accounts, ensuring personalised and tailored service to build loyalty and ensure repeat business.
  • Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with the operations team to ensure all jobs run smoothly, providing updates to customers as needed.
  • Business Development Support: Work with business development managers to support business growth and expand the portfolio.
  • Quotation Management: Provide quotes to customers and follow up proactively to maximise opportunities and bookings.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure competitive service and rates.
  • Profit Margin Optimisation: Ensure clear profit margins on all accounts and jobs, maximising them wherever possible.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in account management, preferably within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach.
