Job: Highway Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Essex | Full-Time, Permanent | Hybrid (once per week in the office)

Rate: Up to 44,799 per annum

Arm is delighted to be working with a public sector organisation who are seeking an experienced Highway Infrastructure Engineer to manage developer-funded highway works for adoption as public highways. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful infrastructure projects and ensure compliance with planning regulations and highway standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approve highway layouts and improvements in collaboration with the Highway Authority and Local Planning Authority.
  • Ensure highway works meet design and regulatory standards.
  • Represent the Highway Authority in third-party projects.
  • Address site and design queries, liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee statutory processes and legal agreements for adopting infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • RQF Level 6 (Bachelor's degree) in highways/transportation or equivalent experience.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, IHT).
  • Experience in highway legislation, project management, and statutory processes.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
