An Essex-based Local Authority is seeking an experienced Homelessness Officer to join their team on a six-month contract, with interviews taking place next week and a start date expected towards the end of February.
This role requires full-time office presence initially to familiarise yourself with the council's systems and procedures. After this period, they offer the flexibility of remote working with occasional office visits.
Applicants must have experience in both prevention and relief, along with a strong working knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. The service is busy, managing a caseload of 70-80, but you won't be thrown in at the deep end-you'll start with around 15 cases until you've settled into the role.
Experience with Locata and previous work within an Essex Local Authority is highly desirable.
