The Role
Our client is looking for experienced Machine Tool Fitters to join their dynamic team. In this crucial role, you will support the next phase of their ambitious project delivery. Your responsibilities will include critically reviewing technical drawings and constructing high-quality, custom electromechanical automation systems, ensuring they meet specifications and adhere to strict safety standards.
As a Machine Tool Fitter, you will work closely with various departments and sharing your expertise within the machine build processes. Your main objective will be to accurately build and test systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions. This role also involves building and assembling various types of special purpose machinery for the automotive industry. There may be an element of traveling to client sites for the installation purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assembly various special purpose machinery.
- Precision fitting and assembly work
- Ability to work to engineering drawings & schematics.
- Building machine sub-assemblies into complete units.
- Cutting metal to size, marking out, drilling & tapping work.
- Competent in using various hand tools such as spanners, screw drivers, allen keys as well as electric power tools.
- Ability to use various measuring tools such as verniers, Micrometers & other Gauges.
About You
- HNC in a mechanical-focused discipline, mechanical apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication skills in written and verbal English.
- Proficient in reading and understanding technical mechanical drawings.
- Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Proactive problem-solver with a good understanding of industrial systems, particularly safety systems.
Basic hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm, Friday's are 7.30am to 12.30pm
- Current overtime hours available are 2 hours a day Monday to Friday paid at time and a half.
