Our client based in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced Import Operations Executive. Reporting to the Import Operations Supervisor to provide an operational service to meet the customers needs in a cost effective manner and consistently promoting the Company. Working closely with Operationd Supervisor to ensure client retention and company growth. The main day to day duties:

  • Liaison with customers, overseas agents/partners, inter-company offices and related parties.
  • Conversant with all aspects of Ocean/Sea Imports (Export Seafreight would be an advantage)
  • Creation and/or update of job files within the company operating system - Cargowise.
  • Preparation/Presentation of Import Customs Entries
  • Booking deliveries with carriers, co-loaders and/or hauliers
  • Preparing Spreadsheets and invoices
  • Collection of all VAT and/or Duty in advance of release where applicable

The successful candidate must have a strong, technical and operations backgroubd in Freight Forwarding or Shipping and related qualifications desirable. A minimum of 2 years experience within the Logistics sector is essential. Must also be computer literate and have good Geographical knowledge. Excellent experience of handling Imports Shipments from start to finish. Must have a vety high level of customer service skills and be able to talk to clients at all levels. You will be organised and have the ability to initiative/plan/assign and control. Be adaptable and flexible, good presentation skills and be able to build lasting and profitable relationships with both clients and sub-contractors. This is a great opportuntiy to work for a respected Freight Forwarder in a hybrid position.
