Verification & Test Principal Engineer- Space & Science

We are seeking a Verification & Test Principal Engineer to join a world-leading technology provider in aerospace, defence, and scientific research. This role is crucial in ensuring that high-performance imaging devices used in space exploration and advanced scientific applications meet the most demanding quality and reliability standards.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of space and science technology. Our client's imaging devices are used in groundbreaking space missions, radiotherapy machines, and advanced research facilities around the world.

As a Verification & Test Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, executing, and verifying test plans across multiple stages of development, ensuring that every product meets stringent customer and regulatory requirements. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you will engage in hands-on electro-optical, mechanical, and environmental testing, playing a vital role in delivering industry-leading technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver test and verification activities across multiple projects.
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and reports, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Commission, calibrate, and validate test equipment in accordance with project needs.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, process engineering, and operations teams to optimize test strategies.
  • Investigate anomalies and failure modes, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support internal and customer technical meetings, presenting test results and key findings.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance verification efficiency.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • An understanding of semiconductor device physics and verification principles.
  • Experience in test development, commissioning, and fault finding.
  • Hands-on experience with LabVIEW or MATLAB in a test or laboratory environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and perform under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
