Quality Inspector (Night Shift) - Aerospace Engineering
Location: Chelmsford

Are you a meticulous Quality Inspector with experience in aerospace manufacturing? Our client in Chelmsford is looking for a dedicated professional to join their night shift team, ensuring all products meet the highest industry standards before release. If you have a strong background in inspection, testing, and compliance within an AS9100 environment, this is an excellent opportunity to progress your career.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out detailed inspections and testing of aerospace components to ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
  • Review and verify subcontractor purchase orders and incoming certifications for accuracy and conformance.
  • Perform FAIR (First Article Inspection Reports), qualification, and final release activities, including COFC sign-off.
  • Use a range of precision measuring tools, such as micrometers, CMMs, and shadowgraphs.
  • Ensure product traceability, batch control, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) compliance.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with customers and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues.


Requirements:

  • Experience in quality inspection within aerospace or precision engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to work night shifts.
