Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team, with a focus on delivering successful projects across energy, highways, rail, or M&E sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise and contribute to high-impact infrastructure projects.

What We're Looking For:

  • Extensive experience in energy, highways, rail, or M&E projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and their application.
  • Proven track record in commercial roles within the Construction Industry.
  • In-depth understanding of Standard Forms of Contract and Standard Methods of Measurement.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, etc.).
  • Full UK driving licence is essential for site visits and project work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost/Value Management: Oversee the collation, analysis, and review of cost/value reports, ensuring forecasts are challenged and corrective actions are implemented as necessary.
  • Subcontractor & Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate terms that appropriately distribute risk and ensure best value for the project and the client.
  • Contract Management: Apply your strong understanding of NEC contracts to ensure compliance and mitigate risks across all phases of the project.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with teams at all levels, fostering a spirit of collaboration, motivating staff, and driving project success.
  • Decision-Making: Provide informed, confident decision-making under pressure, ensuring project milestones and budgets are met.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong ability to synthesise complex information and provide clear situation reports to senior management.
  • Demonstrable experience in civil infrastructure, energy, or construction projects with a proven record of success.
  • Knowledge of programming techniques and project controls to keep schedules and budgets on track.
