Fire Safety Surveyor

Fortus Recrutiment are currently representing a local authority who are looking for a Fire Safety Surveyor to join their property services division in Essex

• Carrying out pre and post inspections of fire risk actions carried out by contractors and colleagues. You’ll also respond promptly to actions identified, specifying works required to correct standards.
• Providing technical advice and support to our trades, maintenance managers, subcontractors and suppliers so we deliver a high-quality, cost-effective and compliant service.
• Contract management including progress against building works schedules. Utilising customer insight to support us in delivering on our customer promise.
• Ensuring all works carried out meet health and safety standards with zero tolerance taken to non-compliance.
• Overseeing our Fire Safety Contractors who maintain our Active Fire Systems and managing any related systems or issues
• Overseeing specialist contractors in the delivery of our passive fire programme (Fire doors, fire stopping etc)

You have

• Building surveying experience including property condition and Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) actions and specifying remedial works. 
• Current knowledge of building repairs, construction and safety.
• Able to manage, control budgets and expenditure.
• A vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage! 
• A self-starter approach, able to work unsupervised to manage your own patch, working commercially to deliver our programmes of work on time and to budget.
• You’ll act quickly when things go wrong, take ownership and are accountable to put things ‘right first time’ through collaborative working.
• In an ideal world, you will also hold RICS, or have a CIOB professional registration or are working towards this.
