This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of service transformation, moving from a centralised hub to a two-hub model, enhancing support for communities across Essex.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will bring your expertise to complex cases, guiding colleagues and ensuring the highest standards of practice. You will lead on statutory assessments, triage initial enquiries, and provide support to AMHPs, all while promoting a collaborative, inclusive work culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead statutory Mental Health Act assessments and manage cases that carry high levels of risk.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Work closely with other agencies to ensure a joined-up approach to care.
  • Supervise AMHPs and ensure compliance with legislative standards.
  • Coordinate referrals and allocate workloads efficiently within the team.
  • Operate flexibly, supporting the team beyond regular office hours when necessary.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status under the Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Significant experience managing complex cases, providing mentorship, and promoting good practice.
  • Strong collaborative skills to build relationships with partner agencies and community networks.
  • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle (or alternative mobility arrangements).
