Day-to-day of the role:- Manage a complex caseload and provide expert supervision and coaching to colleagues.
- Deputise for the Team Manager, leading the team and managing duty services.
- Responsible for conducting thorough assessments and planning responses to safeguard and promote children’s welfare.
- Participate in case conferences, court attendances, meetings, and statutory reviews, taking the lead when a social care perspective is required.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with partners, agencies, and the community to support children, young people, and families.
- Recognised social work qualification (Diploma, Degree, or Masters in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent) with current registration with Social Work England.
- Evidence of continuing professional development aligned with relevant Professional Competency/Capability frameworks or Knowledge and Skills Statements.
- Significant experience in social work, with a comprehensive understanding of all relevant legislation, regulation, and guidance.
- Experience in mentoring social work students and staff, and expertise in professional social work practice.
- Ability to make clear decisions to highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention.
- The role requires mobility throughout Essex and beyond, including transporting service users. A driving licence and car, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means, is essential.
