About the Role:

MediLinks Recruitment is seeking an experienced Locum Social Worker to join our Family Support and Protection team on a temporary basis for an initial period of 3 months. This role is pivotal in promoting the development and wellbeing of children, young people, and their families while safeguarding them from neglect and abuse. You will work collaboratively with various partners to deliver early help, family support, and effective social work interventions.

Key Accountabilities:

- Assess and Support: Evaluate complex social care needs and provide targeted support to children and families.

- Develop Plans: Create support plans that help children and families build resilience and look forward to a brighter future.

- Legal Framework: Ensure compliance with statutory legal frameworks, policies, and guidelines.

- Collaboration: Work effectively with internal and external partners, including the voluntary sector.

- Safeguarding: Conduct assessments and plan interventions to safeguard children and promote their welfare.

- Child-Centered Approach: Implement early intervention and prevention strategies that increase independence.

- Inter-Agency Collaboration: Participate in inter-agency planning, decision-making, and case discussions.

- Communication: Clearly communicate assessments and professional judgments both orally and in writing, including report writing and court statements.

- Supportive Framework: Work with families, communities, and individuals to support strategic aims and promote wellbeing.

- Performance Management: Meet specific individual and shared targets and objectives defined annually within the performance management framework.

Required Experience and Skills:

- A recognized social work qualification (Diploma, Degree, or Masters in social work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).

- Current registration with Social Work England.

- Minimum of 2 years experience in a social work setting, with evidence of handling challenging social and family situations.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups.

- Experience in building strong relationships with partners, agencies, and the community to achieve joint objectives.
