Blueprint Recruitment is searching for a talented Senior Planner to join a leading consultancy on a long-term contract basis. Located in either Essex or Manchester, this opportunity is part of a major aviation project, where the Senior Planner will play a crucial role in shaping project timelines, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful delivery in line with strategic goals. If successful, you will be required to operate on a hybrid basis, attending the site 3 days per week.

They have decades of experience delivering complex, high-value projects across multiple industries, including aviation, transportation, energy, and civil engineering. Their expertise in planning, design, and project controls enables them to execute large-scale programmes effectively, ensuring efficiency and sustainability in every project.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with the planning cycle.
  • Identify schedule impacts and proactively implement solutions within baseline quality, cost, and time constraints.
  • Analyse internal and external deliverables, dependencies, and risks.
  • Lead live progress update sessions to track and report project progress.
  • Produce timely management reports, including milestone slippage analysis, resource trends, and schedule risk assessments.
  • Use Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to monitor project performance.
  • Undertake schedule variance analysis and provide exception reports where required.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified with experience in project planning and controls.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles in complex environments.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6.
  • Experience using an Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
  • Ability to prioritise deadlines and manage reporting cycles efficiently.
  • Previous contractor experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Security clearance for airports is required.
