Juice Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a fantastic organisation, with their search for an Assistant Management Accountant for an established and professional company based in central Cheltenham

DAY TO DAY:

  • Assisting in the preparation of more complex statutory accounts and review of disclosures under a range of accounting frameworks
  • Assist with the review of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Assisting with the preparation, review and submission of VAT and employer taxes
  • Assisting in the preparation or review of monthly/quarterly management reports for a range of clients
  • Preparation of integrated cash flow forecasts
  • Review of bookkeeping duties using a variety of accounting software e.g. Xero, Sage
  • Preparation or review of corporation tax returns and ad-hoc advice as supported by our tax team.
  • Client relationship building and assisting management with maintenance of client portfolios.
  • Understanding client internal controls and where weaknesses are identified, suggesting improvements
  • Performing on-site assignments/secondments at client’s premises
  • Ensuring completion of assigned areas of work within the time budget and deadlines to the standard set and with a minimum of supervision by the manager
  • Seeking to continuously improve systems and procedures
  • Providing assistance, coaching and mentoring to junior staff as and when required
  • Prioritising your own work and deadlines
  • Being up to date with technical knowledge and changes in the accountancy profession, driving best practice in the team and ensuring the team continues to develop.
  • Monitoring and adhering to deadlines, ensuring client work is completed in line with client expectations.
  • Liaising with the other departments in the firm and having awareness services on offer

WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE:

  • Hold an ACCA/ACA qualification is essential not desirable
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an Accountancy Practice Firm
  • Basic knowledge of accounting packages and statutory accounts preparation software (ideally Xero and CaseWare experience)
  • Basic knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and FRS 102
  • Strong time management and delegative skills

Salary: £43,000-£47,000 per annum depending on experience
