Revenues Officer – The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Revenues Officer to join our busy and dynamic Revenues and Benefits team. This is a team of over 30 people working together to collect revenue that helps pay for vital services and awards benefit to the most vulnerable residents.

The Revenues Officer plays a key role within the Revenues and Benefits Service. The post holder will undertake a range of duties in connection with the billing, collection and recovery of council tax and business rates.

Revenues Officer – Key Responsibilities:

- Processing changes to council tax records- Negotiating and monitoring payment plans- Determining appropriate action in the case of non-payment- Dealing with and responding promptly to enquiries from customers, colleagues, and external organisations ensuring the appropriate advice and guidance is provided- Issuing letters and contacting customers for paymentRevenues Officer – You:

- GCSEs (5 A-Cs or equivalent, including Maths and English)

- Experience of working in local authority revenue collection dealing with council tax and/or business rates

- Experience in working with customers and managing customer records

- Experience of data processing using software applications

- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels (excellent verbal and written skills), using tact and discretion where required
