We are seeking a temporary Facilities Assistant for a 3-6 month period with the potential for the role to become permanent. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Estates Manager, maintaining high standards of upkeep for our client's premises. This role involves efficient and effective maintenance of buildings and grounds, ensuring operational excellence and support across various functions.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Take pride in the upkeep of the building and surroundings, noting and reporting any issues needing attention.
- Support the opening and closing of the premises, providing access to contractors out of hours.
- Assist in the implementation of the planned preventative maintenance programme.
- Identify and implement immediate repairs and respond to community requests.
- Manage minor works, ensuring contractors operate safely and consider the needs of all stakeholders.
- Provide portering and logistic support services as required, including ordering, distribution, and storage of materials.
- Support internal and external events with logistic support, setting up and breaking down rooms and stands.
- Monitor the effectiveness of cleaning services and ensure general presentation of the buildings and grounds is maintained to a high standard.
- Assist in monitoring installed plant and equipment, ensuring maintenance and serviceability.
- Support out of hours working and call outs for alarms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in building and grounds maintenance or a similar role.
- Ability to work under supervision and follow detailed instructions.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Competence in handling multiple tasks and providing support across various operational duties.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
