Internal Communications Business Partner - Production (CONTRACTOR)

Job description:
- To inspire, inform and engage key stakeholders to Production by championing the function
through creative and innovative communication. Ensure full visibility of key activity at the
Gloucester site and highlight & celebrate success stories and meaningful messaging. To assist and support Production in communicating its successes to the wider Safran group. The role holder will be a champion for Production, spotting great stories, looking for opportunities to amplify and leverage content and identifying outlets to place those stories.

Key activities of the role:
Relationship & Information Management:

* Collaborate with functional leaders to develop a clear communications strategy for the
department
* Identify upcoming initiatives, critical stories and essential communication activity, through working closely with the function, understanding their vision and translating it into a captivating storyline.
* Gain a full understanding of the target audience to ensure the right information is sent, in the right format, at the right time.
* Attend briefings, cascades and meetings in the Production, Communications and wider
company functions as necessary to feed the pipeline of information Production's 'roving reporter':
* Ability to seek out a phenomenal story that shows how we're growing with purpose and
replay or elevate this so more people 'hear' it
* Identify key projects, people, programs, innovations and other topics in Production that will hold interest for the wider business.
* Tenacity to follow up leads and make sure the story is secured
* Research topics, interview contacts, verify facts and then translate them through writing or other media forms into compelling & creative content to publication standard
* Produce exciting visuals to make any written content 'pop' and get noticed- artwork,
photography, video
* Identifying appropriate channels to distribute content and adjusting outputs accordingly
* Be proactive to any requests for story generation from Communications functions throughout
where Production can contribute

Events:
* Support face to face communications and events across Production and the wider Gloucester
site and create communications around these e.g. success case studies for National
Apprenticeship Week/innovative installation for Cheltenham Science Festival.
* Publicise the success of events for production through follow up stories & activities
Corporate Comms:
* Align company communications with the Safran corporate identity and graphics standards.
* Contribute to and utilise appropriately the corporate Communications photography and video
collections
* Link in with corporate communication efforts to optimise the communication impact for
Production

Additional description:
Key HR Measures will be set out in the objectives but will include timely and accurate delivery of the above tasks and key projects.

Candidate skills & requirements:
ESSENTIAL
Brilliant interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and talk to anyone at any level and draw out their story.
Excellent written English with attention to grammar and tone and an interest in/aptitude for, digital content generation, including design, photography and video. Training will be provided if necessary.
MS Office applications including PowerPoint and Teams/motivated with strong initiative/able to juggle multiple projects and demands with tight deadlines/excellent organisational and time management skills/an eye for detail - able to spot a typo at twenty paces!
DESIRABLE
A technical, engineering or production background or interest in this area would be an
advantage.
An understanding of what makes for a compelling story for a commercially focused internal
audience at all levels, including Board.
Creative mindset, appreciation of and ability to work within, corporate brand guidelines.
Digital content creation/photography and video skills.
Eagerness to be involved in other activities that may be applicable, such as events.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in engineering or related discipline or qualification in communications with at least 18 months experience in a role in engineering and/or production/manufacturing.
Knowledge/experience of engineering/production coupled with communications skills - content
generation including copy, video, and images.
