Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a modern and successful Legal Firm, based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire to recruit a dynamic and driven Credit Controller to join their growing finance team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity seeking an experienced Credit Controller with a professional services background who wants to join a unique company culture.Your new role

Your key duties will involve enforcing the firm's collections policies using a variety of methods, liaising directly with the internal finance team to chase outstanding debt. You will ensure accurate records and documentation of all conversations/communications with clients to keep up to date on debt issues. You will achieve monthly cash collection and debtor day targets, meet with internal partners monthly to review their debt and discuss challenging areas. You will enforce bills are being sent in accordance with timelines, check e-billing platforms, ensure timely resolution of client queries on unpaid invoices, and escalate specific risk areas/issues to senior management. You will perform new client credit checks, raising any concerns, along with being involved in ad-hoc credit duties/projects. You will be given the opportunity to develop in the role as you grow with the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on Credit Control position, you will need experience within a similar role, a professional services background for example, within the legal, financial services or practice sectors. You will have strong communication skills to build relationships both internally and externally, excellent customer service skills with a professional working manner. Strong analytical skills, key attention to detail, with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads. You will be able to work under your own initiative, a strong problem solver, and be a quick learner who can adapt to business needs. You will be keen to progress and develop, along with being a team player who can support others around the organisation. Experience with e-billing platforms will be advantageous but not essential.
