Job Title: Electronic Test TechnicianLocation: CheltenhamSalary: £35,000Overview: The Test Technician will be responsible for building, testing, and calibrating our client's product lines, including subsurface tools, surface equipment, and cabling. This role involves collaborating within a small team, fault finding, documenting production, and ensuring products meet specific standards. The technician will play a key role in continuously improving processes, testing to product specifications, and maintaining high-quality standards.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build various stages of assemblies.
  • Solder components to IPC standards (training available).
  • Recognize and identify electronic components such as capacitors, resistors, etc.
  • Understand electrical wiring and mechanical drawings.
  • Utilize equipment such as a CRO (Cathode Ray Oscilloscope) and DVM (Digital Volt Meter).
  • Use a range of hand tools to assemble and test products.
  • Test products according to in-house specifications and procedures.
  • Ensure timely completion of product testing.
  • Effectively manage time and ensure testing deadlines are met.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes for products and procedures.
  • Maintain records of all build and test activities.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are strictly followed.
  • Work within an Electrostatic Protected Area (EPA).
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Fault-finding ability.
  • Proficiency in PC usage, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Hold a valid driving license.
  • BTEC/NVQ or higher qualification in electrical or electronic engineering.
