Our client is seeking an Electronics Test Technician to join their team, responsible for building, testing, and calibrating PCBs for their product lines. This role is crucial for ensuring products meet specifications and for driving continuous improvement in processes. Working within a small team, collaboration and effective communication are essential. The ideal candidate will have a HNC in electrical/electronics engineering and have 5 years' experience in a production environment building and testing PCBs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Build various stages of assemblies and solder to IPC standards (training provided).
  • Recognise electronic components such as capacitors and resistors.
  • Understand electrical wiring and mechanical drawings.
  • Utilise tools like CRO (Cathode Ray Oscilloscope) and DVM (Digital Volt Meter).
  • Familiarity with a range of hand tools.
  • Conduct tests according to in-house specifications and ensure timely completion of product testing.
  • Manage your own time effectively and be involved in continuous improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all builds and tests.
  • Adhere to high health and safety standards and work within an Electrostatic Protected Area (EPA).
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to fault find and strong analytical skills.
  • PC literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Hold a driving licence.
  • BTEC/NVQ or higher qualification in electrical or electronic engineering.
