Finance Portfolio Manager

Contract Hybrid Day rate: 580 - 720 inside IR35

We're currently seeking accomplished and highly ambitious Finance Portfolio Manager to work with our exceptional client in a secure environment to provide financial coherence across a key programme, enabling successful delivery across all organisations involved.

Purpose of the role:

To provide independent financial coherence for the programme working closely with suppliers and the Authority to provide join up across several organisations and joint force teams to ensure a clear view of the financial picture of the programme.

Main Responsibilities:

* Informing the programme and stakeholder strategic decision making through the provision of independent financial guidance and direction.

* Responsible for providing financial coherence across the joint programme to include an appreciation of multi-year affordability in addition to in-year position.

* Build and maintain relationships at the right level across all departments involved with the programme to provide an independent holistic picture.

* Work across all organisations to deliver and establish the mechanisms required to enable effective cross organisation financial management.

* As the role of critical reviewer, provide independent assurance of financial information being submitted into business cases to ensure continuity of business case financial coverage across the programme.

* Attend the 1st Board meetings

* Provide monthly financial settlement meeting

Experience:

* Ability to understand financial picture at a level to provide confident decision making.

* Excellent interpersonal skills

* Wide understanding and knowledge of financial management best practice
