Requirements:
  • Previous experience within a paralegal role is desirable
  • Excellent organizational capability with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proactive self-starter demonstrating a willingness to learn and manage a growing workload
  • Client-service focused
  • Strong IT skills with accurate typing capability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with the ability to offer support to peers
  • Legal qualification, preferably post LPC or working towards it
Responsibilities:
  • Managing aspects of files overseen by qualified Solicitors and undertaking routine legal tasks under supervision
  • Executing legal processes such as routine file management, including file opening and billing
  • Diary management for the senior lawyer you are supporting to ensure timely meeting of all deadlines
  • Drafting legal documents using appropriate precedents and templates
  • Conducting legal research, presenting results accurately and promptly
  • Providing legal support to the designated senior lawyer, acting as a legal resource as needed
  • Active involvement with the Paralegal and Trainee (PT) group, attending networking events or careers fairs to offer support
  • Actively promoting the firm through social media channels like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook
  • Ensuring all work complies with risk management policies and procedures in line with GDPR
  • Liaising with trust lawyers and probate colleagues
  • Handling income tax reporting on trusts and estates
  • Preparing trust and estate accounts
  • Registering and maintaining trust records on HMRC’s Trust Register
  • Supporting with trust accounts, personal tax returns, and setting up TRS records
  • Liaising with executors, trustees, beneficiaries, government and financial institutions, and other professional advisors
