Manufacturing Engineer sat within a medium sized team supporting various power distribution products within the aerospace sector. Primary responsibilities will be day to day shop floor support, and maintenance of existing build routings/instructions to ensure repeatable and clear process to the shop floor.

The candidate must have a strong ability to interpret detailed engineering assembly drawings and translate those into suitable work instructions and tooling to allow the production team to create physical products/assemblies.
The products are primarily complex cable harness assemblies that are then integrated within chassis with relays, contactors, electronics and other components to form a full power distribution panel for civil aircraft. There is a strict ESD environment that manufactures in accordance with industry standards such as IPC620 as well as internal standards. Therefore, it is critical that the candidate has strong understanding of procedures and ideally experience working in a comparable environment.

Key day to day tasks will be as follows:

  • Responding to production line queries regarding design and build instructions
  • Supporting non-conformance's as they arise and driving route cause corrective action (RCCA) problem solving
  • Updating and maintaining build routings/manuals for improvements or corrections
  • Driving continuous improvement to focus on quality, repeatability and cycle time improvements
  • Reviewing and documenting first article inspections in accordance with company process
