Our client is a well-established and growing new build housing developer based in Cheltenham, currently looking to expand their team with the addition of a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is eager to kickstart their career in the construction industry and develop professionally within a supportive and dynamic environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing and managing project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Support senior quantity surveyors in the preparation of tender documents and contracts.
  • Help monitor and control project costs throughout the build phase to ensure projects stay on budget.
  • Assist in managing subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring competitive pricing.
  • Support with the preparation of bills of quantities (BOQs) and cost breakdowns.
  • Conduct site visits and assist with assessing work progress and costs on-site.
  • Liaise with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Provide administrative support to the commercial team, including maintaining accurate records and reports.


Key Skills & Requirements:

  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in quantity surveying or the construction industry.
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or working towards one).
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with different stakeholders.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and cost management software is desirable, though not essential.
  • Previous experience in a construction-related role (e.g., site assistant, admin) would be an advantage, but not essential.
