About the Role:

Halcyon Health and Social Care are recruiting on behalf of our client, a charitable organisation dedicated to empowering young adults with complex physical and learning disabilities. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of students, helping them achieve their full potential during their time at college. You will be part of a compassionate and innovative team committed to providing exceptional care and support. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students by assisting them in their daily routines, academic pursuits, and social activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all aspects of personal care, such as washing, dressing, maintaining personal appearance, toileting, mouth care, nail care, foot care, and feeding.
  • Support students in academic settings and other learning environments, collaborating closely with specialist tutors.
  • Plan, organise, and facilitate high-quality recreational activities, including community outings, cinema trips, and helping students engage in their hobbies or sports.
  • Track and document student progress towards their individual goals.
  • Communicate regularly with family members to provide updates on student activities and progress, ensuring strong family connections.
  • Administer medication in accordance with policy and procedures, following relevant training.
  • Foster strong relationships with a small group of students by being assigned to a specific residence, supporting their daily routines and encouraging independence.
