Special needs teaching assistant for special needs school in Cheltenham

Full time and a long term commitment with the potential to go permanent.

Zen Educate are looking for an experience special needs professional to take on full time and long term work at a special needs school in Cheltenham starting in the new year. Working hours are 8:30-3:30 and term time only. The school caters to a wide range of needs and ages, this can be both those that have cognitive disabilities but also those with physical needs. In some cases the school can operate as almost a hospital school with some of the medical needs that come children can have.

We are interested in speaking with anyone that has experience with special needs, either from another school, or a care environment supporting adults with special needs.

What are we looking for?

- Experience in special needs such Autism, SLD, MLD, PMLD, downs syndrome.

- Experience in adminstering medication and using hoist equipment is advantageous since some students will require it.

- Someone that is flexible and able to help in more than once classroom, the school at times has to move people around so the more able you are to go where needed, the more successful you will be in the work.

- Empathetic, understanding and patient and able to both cater to the students care needs, but also keep them engaged in their learning.

- Able to be consistent and offer stability for students that are sensitive to change.
