Our client is an international leader in textile, hygiene, and facility services and we are recruiting for a Production Leader for their site in in Leicester. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead and manage a production shift, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with our site improvement vision and business plan. You will work closely with the Production Manager and other internal teams to enhance overall site effectiveness through lean practices and people development.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and legislation, including training staff on plant and machinery according to policy and procedure.
  • Manage the Production operation to produce quality products efficiently and on time, meeting customer packing requirements.
  • Train, motivate, monitor, and coach the production team to achieve Operational Excellence and maintain Service Excellence.
  • Handle site inductions and ensure proper deployment of workwear to staff and visitors.
  • Empower staff to take personal responsibility for responding to requests within agreed timescales.
  • Provide supervision and direction to your team, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Report production statistics hourly and manage any production issues that could impact delivery schedules.
  • Control activities in line with the production plan and ensure KPI targets are met.
  • Collaborate on the purchase of new plant equipment and ensure optimal staffing levels on each shift.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Practical knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to develop effective working relationships across all management and staff levels.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including recruitment and induction processes.
  • Highly customer-focused with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent execution skills in organisational plans.
  • Decision-making ability, flexibility, and quick responsiveness to the needs of the customer and the organisation.
  • Basic PC literacy and the ability to deliver quality results under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in improving systems and procedures.
