Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Branch Manager to join my clients team in Chertsey, Surrey, within the fast-paced and dynamic electrical wholesale industry. As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Branch Manager in the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring the efficient running of the sales, stock, and customer service functions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Branch Operations: Assist in overseeing the smooth operation of the branch, ensuring efficient stock management, sales processes, and customer service.
- Team Management: Support and supervise a team of sales and warehouse staff, ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency. Lead by example and foster a positive working environment.
- Sales Support: Assist in driving branch sales by supporting the sales team, building strong relationships with key customers, and identifying new business opportunities.
- Inventory and Stock Control: Help manage stock levels, ensuring accurate inventory, timely replenishment, and smooth stock movement to meet customer demand.
- Customer Service: Resolve customer queries, complaints, and issues in a timely and professional manner. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Health & Safety: Ensure the branch adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations, and maintain a safe and compliant working environment for staff and customers.
- Reporting: Assist in preparing and analysing sales reports, stock reports, and financial data to provide insights and support decision-making.
- Training & Development: Mentor and train staff to help them develop their skills and contribute to the overall success of the branch.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in the electrical wholesale industry is highly desirable. Experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a similar B2B sector will also be considered.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of electrical products and supplies is preferred. Knowledge of stock control systems and sales processes in wholesale environments is beneficial.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate a team and achieve branch objectives.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers, and staff.
- Organisation: Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving issues, with a strong customer service orientation.
- IT Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and experience using branch management software or ERP systems is an advantage.
