Are you are an experienced financial professional with a proven track record in financial management seeking a new responsible Financial Controller opportunity?

Do you have experience of the insurance industry sector or similar industry related sector or a desire to do so?

Our client is a well-established and trusted insurance brokerage specialising in both personal and commercial insurance services.

Due to the retirement of their long-serving FC a new Financial Controller opportunity exists and our client requires someone who will take ownership of the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency, while supporting the leadership team with insightful financial reporting and analysis. A summary of the key responsibilities for this all encompassing and highly responsible/profile role are summarised below:-

Oversee daily cash flow management

Manage client account transactions

Invoicing

Prepare payroll schedules

Manage pension schedules

Management accounts:

P&L’s

Provide senior management with monthly financial reports

Trial balance

Reconcile client and office bank statements.

Manage insurer payment schedules

Prepayments

Prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial reports, including VAT returns, FCA compliance filings, P11D, and PAYE annual returns.

Coordinate FCA reporting requirements and ensure timely submissions.

Support pre-audit preparations, including audit schedule preparation, invoice scanning, and journal postings.

If you are an experienced financial professional with a proven track record in financial management (ideally within an insurance/ financial services environment or similar) ideally as a Financial Controller/ senior finance role then our client would like to hear from you

Experience in the insurance brokerage sector or a related industry is highly desirable but NOT essential as well as proficiency in SAGE or equivalent accounting software. Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and reporting will be required as well as excellent knowledge of FCA regulatory reporting, VAT returns, and PAYE filings.

You will need to have 1st class organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines & have a detail-oriented mindset, with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
