Job Purpose
  • Manage a varied client portfolio, working closely with Managers and Partners to ensure deadlines and budgets are being met
  • Support audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring compliance and quality service at every step
  • Perform on-site and remote substantive and analytical audit testing
  • Preparation of annual accounts for Limited Companies, Parnerships and Sole Traders
  • Preparation of company tax returns and computations
  • Monitor workflow management including WIP recovery, budget setting and team performance
  • Attend company meetings to support the firm’s continued growth plans
  • Aid the development of junior staff, including overseeing workflow management, reviewing work and delivering training
  • Build trusted client relationships as their main point of contact, proactively handling queries and delivering quality advice
  • Monitor and interpret changes in legislation and industry trends
  • Keep up-to-date on CPD requirements and developments in UK accounting standards, regulation and legislation
  • Champion own professional development by undertaking further learning and training opportunities where possible

The Successful Applicant
  • AAT / ACA / ACCA qualified, with a minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience
  • Qualified by experience also considered
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and legislation
  • Proven track record of mentoring junior staff
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant software including Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of CCH, SAGE, QuickBooks and Xero is desirable, but not essential
  • Self-motivated, reliable and eager to progress
  • A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written
  • Commercial business acumen
