Hays Senior Finance are working with an established international company in the Chester area who are looking to recruit a new Financial Controller. This business is well-regarded and supplies products globally. They have a proven track record of growth and profitability. Due to ongoing growth and expansion the business is looking to recruit a technical and proven Financial Controller. This position is a senior role within the UK organisation, partnering with the Commercial and Site operations team. The role is responsible for overseeing the external audit process and acts as a review point for all significant financial outputs. This role acts as a member of the finance leadership team in the UK and has direct management responsibility. Key duties to include: * Leading the finance team including accounting, costing, regulatory reporting, tax and treasury* Lead the finance team through timely and accurate close activities and reporting* Set the tone and lead the appropriate design and operational effectiveness of both key and operational controls* Review and oversight of all parent group requirements for month and quarter end closes* Lead a successful external audit process and ensure clear communication with external auditors * Oversee all tax activities to include corporation tax, VAT and applicable duties* Lead all treasury management to include daily forecasting* Oversee the statutory accounts process and all related activities* Work with stakeholders including internal and external audit to identify deficiencies and take corrective actionsWe are looking to speak to qualified accountants with a substantial background in statutory accounting, auditing, tax and internal control. Candidates are likely to have been formally trained within a large Practice before moving into Financial Accounting/Reporting roles in Industry for complex businesses. However, CIMA/ACCA qualified accountants are also considered with relevant technical experience. This company is a flexible employer who supports two days a week home working as well as adjusted working hours on request. This role will pay c£85,000 depending on experience as well as a large pension and performance related bonus.
