Page Personnel are working in exclusive partnership with a really exciting Chester based business who are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join them in this newly created role working closely with the Head of Finance and Senior Management Accountant. This a hugely exciting opportunity for a studier to gain strong commercial exposure and develop in this technical role.

Client Details

Our client are an exciting growing sales business in Chester who operate within a very target driven and fast-paced environment. Their finance team are full of committed and passionate individuals who always strive to be the best they can be. This is a brand new role in their high-performing accountancy team designed to assist with year end audit and balance sheet work across the group.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant include:

  • Assist with the Balance sheet reconciliations for 5 UK entities.
  • Assist in the review process of balance sheets, age debtors, creditors and other nominals, flagging areas of risk.
  • Supporting with client processes
  • Intercompany transactions
  • Maintain the intercompany matrix and balancing of the companies in preparation for consolidation and audit.
  • Assist in the audit management throughout the year, reviewing and flagging areas of risk and offering solutions.
  • Key personnel in the audit of all UK companies, liaising with both external auditors and finance department.
  • VAT returns.
  • Quarterly tax
  • Co-ordination of the group cashflow process.
  • Maintain company ledgers for smaller foreign entities and liaise with overseas auditors and accountants.
  • Adhoc duties as required by management

Profile

The successful Assistant Accountant will:

  • Be competent with Microsoft Excel, and familiar with finance packages e.g. Sage 50 & 200
  • Experience and/knowledge of balance sheet management and reconciliation
  • Highly organised, the ability to prioritise and organise workload
  • Background in practice or technical accounting role - Desireable
  • Part qualified or beginning to study ACCA/CIMA
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to prioritise workload
  • Very high attention to detail and some experience in intercompany workings
