Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Chester-based single form entry primary school that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to recruit a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support across the KS2 classes. This school has a large number of pupils with EAL across KS2.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will work alongside all KS2 class teachers and offer support across all KS2 classes. You will offering intervention and booster sessions in core subjects as required and give additional provision to small groups of lower and mixed ability pupils. You will aid in general classroom and behaviour management as to ensure that all learning takes part in an inclusive, accessible and stimulating learning environment. As well as offering general academic support to aid in learning outcomes, you will also support EAL pupils across KS2 on a 1:1 basis. You will support them within the main classroom as well as a separate classroom and give speech and language sessions and aid in their understanding of the English language by tailoring sessions to suit their attainment needs.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as extensive referenceable experience within a classroom environment, as well as:

  • Experience supporting groups of mixed or lower ability pupils
  • Experience supporting EAL
  • A TEFL or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
