We’re looking for an organised and detail-oriented Credit Control Manager to help us maintain a smooth cash flow by ensuring timely payments and minimising discrepancies.

About the Credit Control Manager role:

The role sits as part of the Watkin Jones finance team and is responsible for mitigating risks and maximising profits by ensuring invoices issued by the company is paid in full and on time. As part of the role the Credit Control Manager is continually looking for ways to make the debt collecting process more accessible, more punctual and beneficial for both Watkin Jones and the client.

Core Responsibilities for the Credit Control Manger:

  • Manage the end-to-end invoicing process, including monthly contract applications, commercial invoices and rentals.
  • Proficient organisational skills required in order to record and reconcile incoming receipts and payments, arrange banking and process associated journals.
  • Proactively chase payments, including retentions and minor debts.
  • Ability to create and maintain accurate records.
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reporting and support the completion of month end activities within required deadlines, including reconciling ledgers.
  • Provide miscellaneous support as needed to management and other relevant internal personnel and clients.
  • To work closely with the wider Accounts team as required, including supporting the year end audit process.
  • Supervise the Sales Ledger Assistant in raising, distribution, reporting on and allocation of payments received through ledger for contra invoices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and IT skills are required, as are strong time management skills.

About you:

We’re looking to speak with individuals who have previous experience within a credit control position, you will have strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills as well as a professional attitude with the ability to work independently. Additional to this we require education/ qualifications to a level of NVQ 3, ‘A’ Level, BTEC National or equivalent qualifications or equivalent experience. AAT or similar is desirable.
